Urban Fantasy RP Setting
Magic, survival, freedom, and shadows stitched into a rewritten Earth.
Welcome to the rewritten world
Wisteria is an urban fantasy landscape filled with magic, mystery, and powerful creatures of all types. It is a survival-of-the-fittest scenario for humanity, a fight for freedom and equal rights for the supernatural, and a patient plotting for more power by those who follow Nyx in her Cult.
Once known as Earth, the world became Wisteria after the universe was rewritten during the event remembered by only a select few as The Great Incident. The map still mirrors Earth, but mana now flows openly through civilization, magic crystals power everyday appliances and vehicles, and modern technology exists alongside spellcraft, guns, internet access, enchanted weapons, and supernatural politics.
Weave your story into the plot of Wisteria, and you will find room for character development, growth, alliances, tension, mystery, and consequences. Canon characters and original characters are welcome, and every character has the potential to shape what parts of Wisteria become available next.
The currently available explorable area is The Vixen Market. Other regions exist in lore, but the world expands through in-character discovery, investigation, and travel.
Cities and territories
Each location is tied to a real-world place so new players can understand where everything sits on Wisteria’s Earth-matching map.

The Vixen Market is a sprawling city three times the size of Paris, having overtaken the city entirely after Wisteria was born. It is best understood as a self-sufficient supernatural red-light city where prostitution and drugs are legal, but murder and rape are not tolerated. The city contains everything needed to survive within its borders, including a Merchants Circle for wares of all kinds and a farming section that provides food for its population.
The Fushimi Clan runs the government of The Vixen Market, with Fushimi Kageka acting as its current leader. The Vixen Market Security serves as the city’s army, defending it from the war between humanity and the supernatural. Kageka maintains a treaty with humanity against Dracul Dominion because she disagrees with the methods used by Kai Natsumi and sympathizes with humans due to having grown up around them.

The Eternal Night City is a city that never sees daylight, ruled by the remaining sliver of Nyx, the True Goddess of Darkness and Night. It is known as one of the greatest gatherings of mages in the world, drawing spellcasters from every race through dreams of the Goddess calling out to them. What truly happens within the city is unknown to outsiders, making it one of the most secretive and dangerous places in Wisteria.
The city is protected through both law and magic, with humanity and the supernatural forced to recognize its sovereignty. Any who attack its residents face the full force of the city’s defenses, meaning Nyx herself and the few monsters she still commands. Residents must give at least mana to sustain Nyx so she can continue protecting the city, while humans are often treated as second-class citizens unless they prove themselves worthy of her attention.

Dracul Dominion stretches across Romania and surrounding countries, forming a sanctuary for supernatural creatures from every region and tradition in the world. The Dominion is ruled by King Dracula, also known as Vlad Tepes the Third, with Queen Natsumi as his consort. Its castles, forests, and fortified territories serve as a declaration that the supernatural will never again be owned, hunted, or controlled without resistance.
This country is not built only for vampires or creatures of the night, but for supernatural beings of all kinds. It serves as one of the primary fighting forces against anyone attempting to strip supernatural creatures of their freedom or rights. Within its borders, the Tepes Clan stands as one of the most powerful ruling families in Wisteria, with Dracula, Natsumi, Satoru, and Cneajna serving as the heads of the clan.

New Hope City is one of the most important human strongholds in Wisteria, located in Richmond, Virginia on the American East Coast. While 85% of the remaining human population exists throughout America rather than in the city alone, New Hope City stands as a major center of human organization, defense, and rebuilding. It is a place where people who were once used to ordinary Earth now struggle to adapt to mana, supernatural politics, and a world that no longer belongs only to them.
The United Earth Defense Force resides here, combining modern soldiers, human mages, paladins, light-based magic, crystal-powered equipment, firearms, and salvaged modern infrastructure. The city represents humanity’s attempt to survive without pretending Wisteria can be changed back into the old Earth. It is guarded, tense, ambitious, and deeply aware that every decision may determine whether humanity survives as a power or becomes a footnote.

Political powers
Wisteria’s politics are shaped by treaties, survival, divine influence, and the aftermath of a world that changed faster than anyone could control.
The Legion of Eternity is an army of 1,300,000 souls bound to Kai Natsumi, ranging from dragons and fallen angels to vampires, werewolves, demons, humans, oni, and other supernatural beings. It is divided beneath figures such as Yeqon, Vine, Han Riu, a Vampire General, and a Human General, with each section representing a different form of power or conquest. Its known souls include the Lost Army of Cambyses, the Damned Army of Hungary, the Assassins of Blood, the Hounds of War, Traitors, Oni Warriors, the Eight-Tailed Fox, Han Riu, Vine, and Yeqon.
The Vixen Market Security is the army and protective force of The Vixen Market, operating under the government of the Fushimi Clan. Its members can be nearly any race from world mythology, though kitsune and fox spirits are especially common and the organization is mostly made up of women. Their purpose is to defend the city from outside forces, especially the growing war between humanity and the supernatural.
The United Earth Defense Force is humanity’s organized defense against supernatural threats, made up only of humans. Its ranks include modern soldiers, mages, paladins, light-wielders, and specialists trained to blend conventional weapons with mana-based technology. They operate out of New Hope City and represent humanity’s attempt to survive in a world that has become far more dangerous and magical than the Earth they remember.
The Cult of Nyx resides in The Eternal Night City and worships Nyx, the True Goddess of Darkness and Night. Residents of the city are not forced to join the Cult, as willing prayers and offerings appear to work better than forced devotion. The Cult exists within a city where mages are drawn by dreams, humans are treated poorly unless they prove themselves, and the Goddess herself remains both ruler and mystery.
The Fushimi Clan is a kitsune family that governs The Vixen Market and works with magic connected to the Umbra. The mother traditionally oversees political matters, while the father handles military matters, and the family is known for appraisal, authentication, and identifying even the oldest items in the world. Though they work with dark magic, they are considered kind and compassionate until crossed.
The Tepes Clan is the ruling clan of Dracul Dominion, led by King Dracula, his consort Queen Natsumi, and their children Satoru and Cneajna. Their rule centers on supernatural freedom, military strength, and refusing to allow supernatural beings to be oppressed again. Their politics are closely tied to Dracula’s history as Vlad Tepes the Third and the supernatural world’s need for a country that belongs to them.
Lore figures
These are major names that shape Wisteria’s politics, cosmology, and mysteries.
Nyx is the True Goddess of Darkness and Night, now surviving as a sliver of her former self within The Eternal Night City. She rules the city through fear, devotion, protection, and dreams, drawing mages from all races to her domain. Her feelings toward humanity are openly hostile, though humans who prove themselves may be treated with a strange form of doting possession.
Erebos is the True God of Light and the counterpart to Nyx, his light being the reason stars shine through her darkness. He was once consumed by Nyx after she witnessed The Truth of Creation, and his release became central to saving both gods from each other and themselves. His existence represents balance, contrast, and the light that survives even inside darkness.
Khaos is the Ultimate One, the supreme entity tied to creation and the origin of True Gods and universes. He created while the Nothingness threatened to consume everything, including the universes themselves. Despite punishing Nyx, he continued feeding her the energy needed to survive, an act understood by the True God of Magic as love rather than negligence.
Mato Chiyoto is the True Goddess of Humanity, though this truth is not common knowledge. A part of herself has been separated to live as human, barely recalling the events that shaped the old book series and the foundation of Wisteria. Her connection to humanity, Yoki, and the rewritten world is meant to remain mysterious until uncovered through play.
King Dracula, also known as Vlad Tepes the Third, rules Dracul Dominion as a monarch of the supernatural. His legacy draws from both the historical Vlad and the legendary vampire Dracula, making him a political and symbolic force. With Queen Natsumi as his consort, he rules a country meant to protect supernatural freedom at any cost.
Queen Natsumi is King Dracula’s consort and one of the most dangerous supernatural figures in Wisteria. She commands the Legion of Eternity, an army made from 1.3 million souls, including beings collected across centuries of war and survival. Her methods are controversial, especially to Fushimi Kageka, who believes Natsumi’s approach risks replacing one kind of oppression with another.
Fushimi Kageka is the leader of The Vixen Market and a member of the ruling Fushimi Clan. She sympathizes with humanity due to having grown up alongside humans and has formed a treaty with them against Dracul Dominion. Her leadership is political, magical, and deeply personal, as she must keep The Vixen Market stable while the world around it fractures.
Satoru and Cneajna are the children of Dracula and Natsumi and heads within the Tepes Clan. Cneajna is currently involved in the takeover of Russia, while Satoru travels as he pleases. Both represent the next generation of Dracul Dominion’s royal power and the expansion of supernatural military influence.
Playable possibilities
Wisteria can contain beings from practically any worldly mythology, but these are core examples already used or discussed.
Mortals who once knew ordinary Earth and now struggle to survive Wisteria. Some remain ordinary civilians, while others become modern soldiers, mages, paladins, or light-wielders in the United Earth Defense Force.
Fox spirits with strong ties to illusion, fox fire, magic, and clan politics. The Fushimi Clan is one of the most important kitsune families, though the species is dangerously reduced in number.
Ancient and powerful beings known for resilience, flight, magic, and immense strength. The Day of Flight celebrates the moment dragons of the old world were freed and allowed to return home toward Russia.
Undead blood-drinkers tied heavily to Dracul Dominion, the Damned Army of Hungary, and Dracula’s legacy. Individually they may vary, but together they can become a nearly unstoppable force.
Lycanthropes deeply tied to the Three-Way War and the Hounds of War. Many were nearly eradicated during that conflict, and those bound to Natsumi are summoned trapped in wolf form.
Infernal beings with many forms and powers. Vine is one of the most notable, described as a great king and earl who commands water, towers, walls, hidden truths, and demonic vessels.
Celestial beings tied to holy fire, divine weapons, and ancient rebellion. Yeqon, also known as Jeqon or Yaqum, was the Watcher who tempted other Watchers into relations with humans.
Spellcasters who manipulate mana, study magic, and may be drawn to places like The Eternal Night City by dreams of Nyx. They may practice elemental, arcane, divine, illusion, blood, shadow, nature, or other forms of magic.
Japanese demons known for strength and violence. Oni Warriors were consumed into the Legion of Eternity after attempting to kill off villages and crossing Natsumi.
Brutal supernatural groups that became part of Natsumi’s history through conquest. Goblin Clans and Orcs represent the consequences of predatory violence in a world where stronger predators exist.
Fairies, elves, and other natural entities tied to forests, rivers, wood, water, and living land. Some resisted Natsumi, while others offered their essence willingly for refuge.
Rare individuals with constant regeneration and magically altered blood. Their blood can kill weaker undead, give life and fertility to stronger undead, retain youth, and preserve a mystical form of virginity rooted in spiritual integrity rather than physical anatomy.
Mana and spellcraft
Magic exists alongside electricity, internet, guns, and crystal-powered everyday technology.
Mana flows openly through Wisteria and can be used by trained individuals, magical races, artifacts, and infrastructure. Magic crystals run everyday items such as washing machines and cars, while modern weapons and the internet still remain part of ordinary life.
The universe can grant a Seed of Godhood through trials, planting divine potential within the soul. Some become gods, some become divine monsters, and rare individuals such as Yoki Kai may exceed every expectation by becoming a True God.
Manipulation of earth, air, fire, water, lightning, wood, and metal.
Study-based spellcraft used for protection, divination, illusion, transformation, and advanced theory.
Power drawn from gods, faith, light, protection, purification, and healing.
Magic involving death, spirits, corpses, life force, and communication with the dead.
A magical science used to transform matter, brew potions, and create artifacts.
Magic that deceives the senses and can create convincing false realities.
Magic that imbues objects, weapons, charms, or beings with special properties.
Magic that calls creatures, spirits, demons, or other entities from other places.
Magic powered through blood, life force, lineage, ritual, and sacrifice.
Magic involving darkness, concealment, travel through shadows, and draining force.
Magic tied to plants, animals, forests, rivers, spirits, healing, and natural balance.
Stone, soil, minerals, metal deposits, barriers, terrain shaping, and golem-like constructs.
Wind, storms, clouds, weather movement, flight assistance, and wind barriers.
Flame, heat, combustion, purification, destruction, and fire-based entities.
Water, moisture, ice, waves, healing currents, and fluid control.
Electricity, storm energy, conductivity, charged attacks, and energy manipulation.
Plants, trees, growth, roots, healing groves, forest spirits, and living structures.
Ores, alloys, weapons, armor, constructs, and manipulation of metal objects.
Culture and celebrations
The Day of Flight is a supernatural holiday marking the first official day of freedom from humanity’s oppression. It commemorates the dragons of the old world being set free in the new world, taking to the skies and flying back toward Russia. It is celebrated with fireworks, parties, public gatherings, and open displays of magic.
The Night of Revelry is a supernatural holiday celebrated in places such as The Vixen Market and The Eternal Night City. It is a night of indulgence, magic, performance, food, music, and ritual, where supernatural beings gather beneath the night sky to cast aside restraint. The holiday emphasizes spectacle, pleasure, old traditions, and the joy of existing freely.
The Harvest Festival is a human holiday focused on gratitude, food, survival, and community. It is not widely celebrated in The Vixen Market, The Eternal Night City, or Dracul Dominion outside of small groups. The holiday is especially important to human settlements still clinging to the old rhythms of Earth.
Unity Day is a human holiday dedicated to solidarity, tolerance, diversity, and cooperation. It is rooted in humanity’s need to remain united after the birth of Wisteria and the upheaval caused by supernatural conflict. It is often observed with service work, speeches, vigils, and human cultural events.
Gods and cosmic structure
Khaos is the supreme entity connected to creation, universes, and the origin of the True Gods. He exists beyond normal divinity and is tied to the creation of realities while the Nothingness attempts to devour them.
True Gods stand above normal gods and include Nyx, Erebos, Mato Chiyoto, the True God of Time, the True God of Death, and the True God of Magic. They embody cosmic concepts rather than regional worship alone.
Normal gods vary by region and pantheon. Examples may include Greek, Japanese, Norse, and other mythological deities such as Aphrodite, Ares, Amaterasu, Susanoo, Tsukuyomi, Odin, Thor, and Freyja.
This level includes world-shaping supernatural rulers and figures such as King Dracula, Queen Natsumi, and other beings with immense influence who are not categorized as True Gods.
Humans, kitsune, dragons, mages, vampires, werewolves, demons, angels, and countless other races live within the consequences of the cosmic hierarchy, whether they understand it or not.
Current storyline
Recently, The Vixen Market was the scene of a horrific event now known as the Hangman Incident. During a celebration welcoming those who had joined Wisteria to help with its growing problems, an explosion tore through the festivities and plunged the streets into chaos. From the destruction emerged Yoshiba Akane, also known as Hangman, who began slaughtering those in her path and using corpses as puppets and weapons.
Akane’s path led toward Fushimi Castle, forcing defenders, visitors, and residents into a brutal struggle to stop her before she reached the heart of the city’s power. She was stopped, but not captured, and has since vanished from the city. The attack caused many deaths, widespread fear, and serious questions that must be answered through in-character investigation.
The Vixen Market is currently the main explorable area. The world will expand through character action, investigation, travel, and discovery.
